When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf coast in late August, property was lost or damaged, and people's lives were uprooted. Companion animals have also suffered the loss of their family as well as suffered from malnutrition and disease.

Bil-Jac has been working with key leaders to provide help and support in the form of our superior nutrition FREE OF CHARGE to various groups in the region.

We have already shipped a container load of bags of Bil-Jac dry dog food to Mississippi, to be distributed by Gary Gero who is leading an effort to rescue and aid dogs trapped and suffering in the region. From other places in our web site, you will find we have a long-standing relationship with Gary who is the leading trainer of dogs, cats, and other animals you see on TV and in films in Hollywood. We have contacted LSU, which is spearheading rescue efforts in Louisiana, and coordinating response for many pet food, pet hard goods and pet services companies.
Some of our key retail partners are generating their own response to Katrina, through their programs and we are coordinating with them also.

More needs to be and will be done. We appreciate your concern and encourage you to do what you can to address the unfolding disaster in the Gulf Coast. You can also participate by supporting your local SPCA or Shelter. Americans are a very generous people but we must not forget financial support for other organizations that aren't in the headlines now. Many local rescue groups do great work rescuing and finding homes for companion animals day-in and day-out in communities across the United States.
