More Fresh Chicken Ingredients
We use much more REAL FRESH CHICKEN and FRESH CHICKEN ORGANS than our competitors, which is exactly what your pet craves. It's also what your dog was evolved to thrive on. We have never used and will never use gluten meals or protein concentrates as a protein source to meet our label guarantees at a lower cost.
FRESHNESS. We actually go to nearby Chicken processing plants to carefully select the fresh REAL Chicken and Chicken Organs we use in our products.
Proteins vs. Carbohydrates
Using grain ingredients for protein vs. using them for carbohydrates is an important Bil-Jac distinction. We never use grain gluten meals or grain protein concentrates as a source of protein in our formulas. When you see gluten meals or protein concentrates on other ingredient labels, their purpose is to boost declared protein.
Our use of carbohydrates is to provide nutritional balance and energy. Dogs are carnivores, but they also need carbohydrates. We know from studies of dogs in the wild that when they kill to eat, they not only eat the meat, but also the grasses in the stomach as a source of carbohydrates. There is a significant distinction in the function of gluten meals (added for protein) and grains added for carbohydrate balance in the diet.
Some dogs have exhibited allergic reactions to many carbohydrates that are insufficiently processed, which frequently happens in
common extruder/expander processors used widely in the pet food industry.
This has led manufacturers to include alternative carbohydrate sources to differentiate their products. But the results are often little different. Many Bil-Jac customers, on the other hand, report that their "allergic" pets have clear skin and healthy
coats in no time after they start feeding
carefully processed Bil-Jac (see our Customer
Testimonials).
Bil-Jac Carbohydrates
The whole grain carbohydrate source in Bil-Jac dry foods is corn (in our Senior Formula we also use Oatmeal) that is processed in such a way that the carbohydrates are completely available to your pet for thorough digestion.
Corn is an excellent carbohydrate – an essential element of a dog’s diet for energy.
Careful processing of any carbohydrate is essential for energy and digestibility.
-
Our unique processing method may eliminate the perceived "allergic" symptoms dogs exhibit when carbohydrates in their diet are not properly processed.
Two factors should be considered with respect to carbohydrates in animal diets. First, the quality of the grain should be the finest.
The second concern relates to the conversion of the complex carbohydrates in the grain to simpler carbohydrates, which are then available to the animal. Bil-Jac is able to convert 98% to 99% of the complex carbohydrates we use to simpler carbohydrates with our unique processing procedures. Dogs simply can’t digest complex carbohydrates, so it’s essential to break them down for digestibility.
Most competitive pet food conversion percentages are significantly lower. That relates to the way the food is processed. Our unique cooking system is substantially different than competitive extruded dry foods, in both the protection of our fresh chicken proteins and in the completeness of our carbohydrate conversion. Additionally, no one else uses our unique vacuum drying process which guarantees the finest in both the quality and availability of nutrition in the food.
Look for Proof
Bil-Jac not only addresses the needs of dogs with skin and coat problems, but it will enhance the coat of pets who "look just fine" to a level that will bring compliments from others and are the hallmark of superior nutrition and vitality. In just a few short weeks after feeding Bil-Jac, you will notice an improvement in the appearance of your special friend.
